| New BDXG trophy unvieled for 2010 |
|
A brand-new BDXG club trophy has been made available from 2010 to join the others open to all Bittern DX Group members. It comes in the shape of a data competition, the brainchild of Ken M6KAH who is particularly keen on these modes since gaining his licence through the first BDXG foundation licence course.
The trophy has arrived and was sponsored by Ken M6KAH, the contest Will run annually using the data modes of RTTY, PSK31 and PSK63 only commencing at 00.00.01 on the 1st January until 23.59.59 on 31st December. It doesn't just rely solely on the amount of DXCC's worked per band in the calendar year that would be too easy, instead it cleverly uses BDXG members as multipliers to increase club activity. |

He has found that data is a wonderful medium for making the most of the 10W restriction of the foundation licence and has worked almost 100 countries in his first year. He wished to increase activity within the group's membership on these modes so submitted his idea of a contest to the committee for approval. It goes without saying that it gained unanimous support at our last committee meeting and the "Bittern DX Group Annual Data Contest" was born.
