Our priority this time around was to raise funds solely for a Norfolk-based charity, several were discussed and despite their many merits most were rejected . Having blind members already receiving assistance from the Norfolk and Norwich Association to the Blind's equipment centres. As the NNAB receives no state funding and is a totally local independent charity, it was decided to approach them. BDXG's enquiry I must say he was met with great enthusiasm and we've had several contacts with them to organise an event and a raffle to raise funds. We are pleased to say plans are going very well and the dates will be published here soon. Let me give you some details about the Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind, it was founded in 1805 by Thomas Tawell as the Norwich institution for the Blind. It is a registered charity and changed to its present name in 1988 and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II became its patron in 1952.
